Mr. Wood has practiced family law in Richmond since 1966. He regularly serves the Richmond area courts as a Commissioner-in Chancery or Judge Pro Tempore hearing cases involving complex divorce litigation. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar and he is active in many other state and local bar associations. In 2003, Mr. Wood was honored to serve on a committee of local judges and family law attorneys, which over the course of several months established Uniform Domestic Relations Practices and Procedures for the Circuit Courts of Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield and Colonial Heights. Mr. Wood has also been named in the "Virginia Business Legal Elite." He holds Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV rating.
Mr. Wood is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College (1962) and the T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond (1966). In 1997, he was certified as a mediator by the Supreme Court of Virginia. He is frequently asked to lecture local bar associations on mediation and family law issues. Mr. Wood is a past member of the Virginia State Bar's Third District Committee on legal ethics.
