Mrs. Clanton has been named by her peers in the 2006 Virginia Business Legal Elite as one of the best family law attorneys in Virginia. She is the former Vice-President of the Metropolitan Richmond Family Law Bar Association. For over a decade, she has focused her practice on family law including child custody and visitation, complex equitable distribution and child and spousal support.

She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar, the Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. Prior to graduating from law school, she served as a law clerk to the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

Ms. Clanton graduated magna cum laude from James Madison University in 1992 and received her J.D. from George Mason University in 1995.
